Animatics are an animated form of pre-visualization illustrated artwork.. After initial sketches are approved for each shot, the illustrator adds full color and detail. The drawings are brought into computer software and cut into layers that can be individually positioned and moved. The editor uses these elements and matches them with audio to bring the artwork to life in a simple, but compelling 2D animatic.
